PROFILE
HOM is a fully owned subsidiary of Yousif Al-Hamdan Trading Co.Ltd. (YAHTco) established in 1993 specializing in weighing, measuring and control systems and equipment. HOM has three main divisions:
A. SCALES DIVISION
It markets most advanced brands of scales and measuring equipment including weighbridges. It also provides repair, maintenance and calibration services.
Stocks of various scales and weighing equipment and parts are maintained in the best of ways to meet clients requirements. It has well equipped technical teams for the maintenance and calibration of scales and measuring equipment. Maintenance is carried out on sites or in its own laboratory using standard test weights certified by Saudi Arabian Standards Organization (SASO).
B. AUTOMATION DIVISION
It provides turnkey computerized control and monitoring systems to suit various industrial and other processes. In its most modern workshop facility in Riyadh, it designs, develops and builds state of the art electronic computerized controllers that fully meet clients’ requirements. One of the recently developed and being marketed successfully is its automatic computerized control systems for asphalt and concrete batching plants.
C. TRAFFIC DIVISION
It is engaged in the design, supply, installation, operation, maintenance and management of all types of traffic projects and systems. The scope of its works includes traffic counting and classifying, traffic controllers and signal heads, traffic cameras and monitoring systems. Through its licensed well-equipped factory and workshop, most of the required equipment and devices are made or assembled locally to respond quickly and efficiently to client's needs and requirements.
LOCATION:
HOM Head Office is located in Riyadh in order to serve the Central Region. It has branch offices in Al-Khobar and Jeddah to cover and service the Eastern and Western Regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In addition, it markets and exports its products and services to neighboring Gulf States and other Arab States.
PROJECTS & CONTRACTING:
HOM has been aggressively pursuing available business opportunities in the public sector, semi government and private entities whenever and wherever any kind of equipment and products in HOM’s field is required. HOM has executed by itself, or sometimes on behalf of its holding firm - Yousif Al Hamdan Trading Est. (YAHT) several prestigious projects exemplified by the followings:
IN THE AREA OF SCALES AND MEASURING DEVICES:
HOM has supplied, installed, maintained, and /or calibrated all types of scales and weighing systems from bench and retail scales to computerized industrial weighbridges. Among its major projects is the turn key project of equipping and automating18 weighing stations in the main highways of Saudi Arabia to enforce the legal regulations of Ministry of Communication (MOC) completed end of 2000. Other projects for the same client MOC, included supplying most advanced weigh-in-motion truck scales. Currently, HOM has over 100 contracts with government and private sector to maintain and calibrate their scales. Some of its clients include the well known names of MOC, Grain Silos and Fluor Mills Organization (GSFMO), Customs Dept., Aramco, Saudi Oger, Bin Laden, some of SABIC industries, most of cement companies, DHL, . . just to name a few.

IN THE AREA OF AUTOMATION:
The division has developed and installed its "ACPA-900" system in over (35) major concrete or asphalt batching plants that include Binladin, Saudi Oger, Al-Asami, Al-Manwa, Al-Qasabi…etc. In addition the Automation Division has designed, built and successfully installed computerized systems to automate Industrial processes for various factories including SADCO Feed Factory, Al-Rashi Block Factory…. etc.
Through it's well-equipped specialized workshop and its highly skilled engineers, the division has developed and able to develop any product that may or may not exist readily in the market according to customer specifications such as escillator controllers, tank level measuring devices, remote machine monitors….etc.
IN THE AREA OF TRAFFIC:
HOM- TRAFFIC was most active in the last 5 years. Recently it has successfully completed a project for improving Traffic flow at most congested (72) intersections in Jeddah. Project scope of work included also replacement of existing controllers with 65 most advanced Traffic Controllers and Traffic Signal Heads, in addition to state-of-the-art Urban Traffic Control (U.T.C) system. HOM is proud to have won an international tender and has successfully executed a project for supplying and installing most advanced Traffic system in the city of Tripol, Lebanon. Also, "HOM" is supplying Traffic maintenance contractors with most advanced Traffic controllers and Traffic Signal Heads for their maintenance contracts all over the Kingdom. HOM was the one to introduce the advanced Traffic counting and classifying equipment in all the major highways of Saudi Arabia plus the automated weighing control systems.
SERVICES:
HOM maintains up-to-date information, including catalogues and demonstration kits for the available systems. It also maintains a local inventory of individual components and spare parts to permit immediate response to emergency calls for repairs and plant expansions in the following areas:
* Computerized automated systems for industrial processes.
* Weight derived process plant automation, batching and material handling in
systems.
* Laboratory and precision balances.
* Static weighbridges and dynamic weigh-in-motion.
* Tank/hopper, bench, platform and floor scales.
* Electronic conversions of mechanical weighing systems.
* Water level meters, gas pressure gauges and other measuring devices.
* Traffic controllers and cameras and traffic data collection systems and
equipment.
In addition, HOM Service Technicians are available to perform preventive maintenance, field repair, test and calibration on a complete range of electronic and mechanical weighing and measuring devices. Certified test weights and measurements are available to perform calibration in the field or at HOM workshop. Furthermore, HOM is certified by Saudi Arabian Standards Organization (SASO), and is a member of the International Society of Weighing and Measurement (ISWM).
STAFF:
The staff consists of a number of Engineers and Technicians headed by the owner, Mr. Yousif H. Al-Hamdan who holds MBA from University of Texas, Austin, USA since 1966. He was a Deputy Minister of Commerce in Saudi Arabia till 1980. After that, he joined the private sector as an employee, then as a businessman working as a Chairman, a Managing a Director, and a Director in some prominent Saudi and Joint Venture Companies.
The staff includes, Mr. Monther Hodairi, Systems and Automation Manager, who has a B.Sc. degree in Computer and Control Engineering from Coventry University of UK, Mr.Nazeeh Atout, Scales and Projects Manager who has a degree in Electrical Engineering from Jordan and a number of Electronic, Mechanical, Traffic and Process Control Engineers and Technicians who share more than 20 combined years of field experience.
